Hybrids to display safety labels

All Hybrid Vehicles are to have a special safety label on their number plates in Australia. This proposed plan is hoped to improve the safety of emergency services personnel when they are called out to the scene of an accident.

The problem with these hybrids is that when emergency services personnel need to work on a car at a scene of an accident, they do not know if the car is still running as only the electric motor will be running and you just cannot hear them.

If emergency services personnel attempted to work on a Hybrid Car while running, they could receive a nasty shock or severe burns.

If any hybrid vehicle is seen without this safety label on its number plate, then it will carry a fine of $540
