The Honda Insight is the daddy of all Hybrid cars and they are way behind when it comes to the amount of technology that is in the car compared to many of the others but when it comes to fuel efficiency and also the construction of its body then the 2006 Honda Insight is leaps ahead of the field
The original Hybrid Insight was first introduced in 2000 for the U.S market and was very advanced in it’s construction and one of greatest features was its 0.25 drag coefficient which was unheard of in a road car and this was all thanks to its aluminum bodywork and also an underbody with a flat design, every detail was thought even down to its tires which has a low rolling-resistance so that the end result would give you more MPG and the figure that they was able to get from the Honda was 66 low rolling-resistance MPG
Sales are dropping for the Insight as this Hybrid is all about fuel efficiency and nothing else which is great but the problem with that is the American Market all they want are big cars so the manufacture has to listen and try to make bigger and better Hybrid cars but in doing so they are doing the opposite of what a Hybrid is supposed to be, but hopefully the 2006 model will help to stable sales
